How it Works
Step 1
If you are interested in receiving Ketamine-assisted therapy, it is vital that you read through the our service description information.
We also have an extensive FAQ section which should be able to answer any of your questions.
Step 2
Once you have read through the service information and FAQs and you believe you meet the medical eligibility criteria, you need to complete the form and submit your referral on the Self-Referral page.
Step 3
To ensure your medical eligibility for receiving Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, with your consent, we will also conduct a more thorough assessment; including a review of your medical notes held by your GP.
Step 4
If appropriate we will then invite you in for a 1 hour face-to-face medical assessment held at the clinic to determine whether our treatment is right for your condition and circumstances.
Step 5
If Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is right for you, we will create a treatment plan. This will be a course of up to 11 therapy sessions. Four of these sessions will include medically supervised dosing sessions with ketamine. For alcohol treatment this will differ slightly which consists of 10 sessions over a 4 week period.
Step 6
The dosing will be via an intramuscular injection and the dose may be altered over the course, according to your response. Dosing sessions will be supported by your therapist, who will help you get the most from the experience.
Step 7
The dosing will create a dissociative and profound experience and will likely lead to an elevated mood that lasts for several days. A therapy session will take place the following day to help you integrate the experience to address the root cause of your condition by allowing you to engage with therapy in a new way.
